Grameen Veolia Water Limited is producing 5 US Gallon (19.8 Liter) water Jar in their Daudkandi water treatment plan. Right now Grameen Veolia Water Limited has a project i Grameen Byabosa Bikash n Daudkandi for supplying safe drinking water among poor villagers with only a token price because this area is suffering from arsenic problem. Grameen Byabosa Bikash is working as a distributor of Grameen Veolia Water in Dhaka city and has started distribution Far water from 04th of October-11. The production capacity of Daudkandi water treatment plant is 2500 Jar per day. Grameen Byabosa Bikash is hoping to distribute 1500 Jars per day in Dhaka city in future. Grameen Buabosa Bikash is following highest quality of Jar water distribution system by a professional team.

This program is being implemented with the collaboration of Grameen Bank. GBB and Grameen Bank launched this program from 2001 with the view to further development of the Grameen’s graduate members who has potential to more growth. GBB provides ‘Loan Guarantee’ to Grameen Bank in favor of the members. GBB is operating this program in 1579 Branches under 40 Zones (Working areas) of Grameen Bank. As on now, guarantee has been provided to 5,18,463 members of Grameen Bank. The total amount of loan guarantee is 2,368 crore ($ 3.38 bl.).

Types of micro enterprises to which guarantee has been given: Vegetables gardening, fruits gardening; poultry, dairy farming, beef fattening; nursery, lathe, motor workshops, grocery shop etc.

Many entrepreneurs/ farmers/ producers face loses only due to farming or doing their business in traditional/ backdated methods. GBB provides/arranges training for poor rural entrepreneurs so that they can handle their business in profitable manner. Side by side, GBB provides marketing assistance to poor entrepreneurs. As on now, GBB has provided technical and marketing assistance to 4300 entrepreneurs/ farmers with 215 training programs.

Though all programs of GBB facilitate to create employment opportunities for Grameen borrowers and the poor people in the country, this program has been initiated by considering the needs of young generation of Grameen members. Under this program, Mobile Phone Servicing Training has been given to 184 family-members of Grameen borrowers. Out of them 160 family-members started their own servicing centers and rest 24 work as freelancer. On an average every person earns Tk. 6,000 ($ 86) per month.

In the year of 2004, Grameen Byabosa Bikash has started to implement the Livestock Vaccination Program in Bogra and Pabna Zone with the view to giving Vaccine to the cows, Livestock treatment and Caring the health of cows for reducing the mortality rate of cows. Another reason of implement this program is, a huge amount of guarantee loan has been provided for caring of milky cows and cow fattening in all zones. Later on this program has extended also in Dhaka and Khulna zone. Livestock Vaccination Program has been implemented among the guarantee loaners cow, Grameen Bank members cows and also non-Grameen Bank members cows by hiring Union, Thana / Upazilla label livestock officer paying an honorarium and Grameen Byabosa Bikash livestock technician. As on now, under Livestock Vaccination Program total 5,000 cows has vaccinated by Grameen Byabosa Bikash livestock technician and Upazilla livestock officer.

This program is being implemented by Grameen Byabosa Bikash and launched the program from 2007 with the view to finance the small and medium entrepreneurs to develop and expand their business. Right now huge amount of Grameen member who are graduated from poverty level and non Grameen members in the market those who need big amount of loan for their small and medium business. Grameen Byabosa Bikash is providing handsome amount of loan to this kinds of entrepreneurs under Small and Medium Enterprise program. Grameen Byabosa Bikash is operating this program in Chittagong division under six unit offices. As on now, Small and Medium Enterprise loan has been disbursed to 2.215 members. Total amount of loan disbursement is 21 crore ($ 3 Million).

Types of Small and Medium Enterprise loan to which has been given: Sale of garments products, rice business, medicine business, grocery shop, electric and electronic goods business, lathe and hardware shop.

Grameen Byabosa Bikash has started a new program named “Social Business Program” since 2010. Under this program primarily Grameen Byabosa Bikash is creating market and selling various types of goods like hygienic Mosquito Nets Energy Saving Lamb, Mobile Phone Battery and Grameen-Uniqlo Neat Wear Products. Grameen Byabosa Bikash is also planning to add more goods for sale under this program in future like “Unnatho Chulla (Environmentally Friendly)” discovered by Grameen Shakti, Solar Panel, Grameen -Veolia Drinking Water and Computer.
